Montana: Minimum Wage Will Rise to $8.30 Per Hour

New Rate Effective January 1, 2018

The state of Montana has announced that the state minimum wage will increase to $8.30 per hour (from $8.15 per hour), effective January 1, 2018.

For a list of employees who are exempt from the provisions of the Montana minimum wage law, please click here. (Note that the federal Fair Labor Standards Act also contains certain exemptions from the minimum wage that may apply to some workers. When an employee is subject to both the federal and state wage laws, the employee is entitled to the provisions of each law which provide the greater benefits.)
